Selecting your cork

For corking non sparkling wines (CO2 content below 1200 mg/litre) in bottles with a flat, single neck ring known as a “CETIE ring”; the Preteux Bourgeois range offers you three large product families:

1) Natural Corks: length 38 - 44 - 49 - 53 diam. 24

2) Colmated Natural Corks: length 38 - 44 - 49 - 53 diam. 24

3) Technical Corks:

- “2” collé corks lengths 38 - 44 - 49 diam. 24.2

- collé corks with 1+1 discs length 44 diam 23

- agglomerated corks lengths 38 - 44 diam. 23

These products are available with Peroxide Washing/Disinfection and conform to the classification system in the Cork Manufacturer's Charter. The choice of size and quality of cork should be correlated with the type of glassware and the keeping time of the wine. Do not forget to personalise your cork

Personalise Your Corks

When the qualitative choice has been made, you tell us the marking which you wish to appear on the side and, if required, the ends of the cork.

The cork is the first point of contact with the wine consumer. It is therefore important that its appearance and the information which it carries act as a starting point for the enjoyment of the wine.

PRETEUX BOURGEOIS uses the latest cork printing techniques (roller marking, ink marking, branding). Simply send us the design or the text you require. After marking, your cork will be given a spray coating in rotating drums, it will be checked and then packaged in a high density polythene bag.

Note : marking of the vintage on corks is always done by branding. The wine does not come into direct contact with the ink.

Barange S.A. Corks

BARANGE SA was established in 1932 in Epernay. It is one of the leading companies in the manufacture of high quality and medium range Champagne corks.

In 1960, it developed the manufacture of discs as its Portuguese subsidiary, NOVACORTICA, owned jointly with its Spanish partner. Over the years BARANGE SA has remained faithful to its motto " Tradition and Technology" and regularly produces improvements and innovations for the corking of sparkling wines.
